King’s Blues Club in Los Angeles and is a fixture at music and poetry venues across the U.S. For the last five years he has been producing music at a furious pace. 4 full-length albums and an Ep under his belt, he is currently touring and promoting his latest effort, the acoustically driven “Mad Love Activate”. Sandbloom, the name he regularly performs under because he says it’s easier to remember, was recently featured on the ABC Family series “Lincoln Heights”, and also has credits on the Laurence Fishburne film “Once In The Life”. He was also payed the honor of having one of his songs used by guitar legend Robben Ford on his album, “Supernatural”. It ended up being chosen as the title track. Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ERSJn-LdhY Beautiful Untouchable

Leon Timbo is a gifted musician and singer with a wonderful vocal presence, exceptional song-writing skills and a psalmist anointing. Leon’s vision is to use his artistry to reveal the heart of God and open up the hearts of others to the beauty of intimacy with the lover and creator of all mankind. Leon brings his passion, gifting, and sensitivity to the Spirit as he ministers both to the church and a hurting world.

Traveling to and performing at conferences and concerts allowed alone time to birth this transparent sound. In 2003, “The Secret songs of Boomtown” was birthed and recorded live at the Boomtown Theatre and Café in Jacksonville, Florida. He simply explained the most under discussed and simply misunderstood parts of life, love, and worship in a very non religious approach.

Now entering his 30’s, Timbo has a heart to speak truth acoustically and build upon an already inspiring tradition of music set before him. Some of his up to date work includes the challenging song “Truth Is” on the album “Soul Music” and “Joy of my Desire” on the album “House of Blues” by artist Lisa McClendon. Leon Timbo combines Soul music, folk expressions, and R&B dynamics in an acoustic casing that’s surgical.

Soul Release w/ Abyss (Def Poetry Jam) @ Kristee’s
“a spoken word poetry soul music dinner experience”

Saturday, October 17, 2009
Doors open at 8:00p

open mic for poets, singers and comedians
hip hop and R&B by guest DJ
featuring Abyss (Def Poetry Jam/BET Lyric Cafe)
http://www.myspace.com/abysslivepoets

A.B.Y.S.S. – The metamorphosis of the artist we call Abyss began while working his way up the tour scene in comedy clubs. The poetry arena wasn’t really de- fined when he debuted to listeners in Jacksonville, FL. Abyss was determined to put stretch marks on the genre we now know as spoken word. He tirelessly works on his craft, a self taught musician and scribe. Abyss also served 7 yrs on the board of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. He spends countless hours of community service inside jails, schools, churches, and community centers. Abyss received a Peabody Award for his appear- ance on HBO Def Poetry the “original series” season 1, and returned to star on seasons 5 of HBO Def Po- etry. He was the first poet to appear on BET’s 106th & Park. Currently Abyss has been casted for a recur- ring role on the “Somebodies”; the first scripted sitcom in BET’s history. He’s has made other appearances on BET J’s Lyric Café, the 12th Annual Gospel Choice Awards, and numerous NACA/APCA college events. Abyss also co-wrote a song with Rhon- da Smith (Prince’s Bass Player). He’s a published author, musician, activist, motiva- tional speaker, songwriter, actor, mentor, etc. His list of accomplishments goes on and on. Abyss is an Artist truly in tune with perseverance and hard work. He has the nickname “The Native” because he fits-in wherever he travels. His mission is to educate and entertain simultaneously. Medicine sprinkled with sugar is a good way to describe the message that has been authored by his ray of light. His name is synonymous with poetry in the Atlanta area. With a resume like his, you’d imagine Abyss would be conceited and very unapproach- able – on the contrary. You would be hard pressed to find a man more humble. Abyss real- izes that his gift is from God, and it’s to be used for His purposes only. Abyss has been in the company of the likes of Alicia Keys and Kanye West, yet he’ll break bread with the homeless at the Atlanta Mission. Abyss wears different hats depending on his assignment for the day. Abyss is a Poet, a Visionary, a Leader, a Father, a Teacher, and Inspiration – A Bright Young Soul Searching. Abyss is searching for other bright young souls to complete “Team Abyss” (a coalition of artists working to maintain the virility of creativity). Abyss has a prophetic mouth for such times as the present, and breathes spirit into dead art forms. If you ever have the op- portunity to hear him speak, go, your life will never be the same. Coming to a town near you soon. A.B.Y.S.S. – A Bright Young Soul Seeking the Acid Gospel – “sometimes the truth burns”.
